An Advocate for Literacy

As a veteran educator, author, and literacy consultant, my passion for learning is evident in the work I do. As the founder and CEO of Bright Literacy Solutions, I am dedicated to empowering families and diverse communities through literacy education. My story begins with 23 years of teaching experience in a K-8 school, which included two recognitions as Teacher of the Year. Throughout this time, I have not only established myself as a leader in the classroom, but also as an advocate for all aspects of literacy, even as a parent.

As an entrepreneur, I have written a book titled How to Get My Kid to Read? It is a strategy-driven guide written for parents, with the focus on providing helpful tips and steps in order to encourage children to read. Additionally, I have made it available in both English and Spanish for families who speak those languages. Bright Literacy Solutions also offers in-person and virtual/online workshops to provide parents with the tools they need to support their children’s literacy skills. 

I am committed to equipping parents with the tools and knowledge they need to ensure their children’s success in school. It is my goal that the work of Bright Literacy Solutions will make a positive impact on the lives of families everywhere.
